This memento of Roomes "homeware" store is reconstructed
from
three photos taken with a 0.8 megapixel camera in January, 2000

The building on the right, once the Post Office, had already been
replaced by a block of flats when the Roomes store went down in 2007...

...to be replaced by yet more flats, plus an M & S
food store,
pictured here on its opening day in November 2008

In 2001, a shop next to the Clockhouse sold garden ornaments

In spring 2009 it was turned into a supply of hardcore

In January 2007 the mill showed its age when a sail snapped in a gale
